Autumn/Winter Programme 2014-2015

9 Sep 14	Tidenham Chase GWT Nature Reserve MEET:10am at FC car park at Tidenham Chase	TASK: cut, treat and burn young birch trees. We will be working in groups of three to help ensure each stump is treated and brash cleared as we have 30 hectares ahead of us. 1 person will cut, 1 person will treat stump, 1 person will drag brash to fire. We will work clearing small glades to keep work site close to fire site. This is an incredibly daunting venture but the rewards are huge as under that birch is the heathland everyone has been wanting to see. All tasks are led by FC Ranger or GWT Ranger staff, start at 9.45 am and finish around 3pm

Please remember that you must wear steel toe-capped boots and gloves.
Please bring wellington boots if you have them, as many of the sites are rather wet.
Some of the sites are difficult to find and therefore an ordnance survey map will be useful
As a general rule, we will try to do at least some work on wet days so please bring wet weather gear
