Plump Hill

Take the A4316 up to Plump Hill and turn as if going to the Wilderness Centre (GL17 0HA), take the next left into the car park where we will be working.

Linear Park

Take the B4226 from Coleford to Cinderford go past the Dilke Hospital and turn left at the bottom of hill into Linear Park car park at Cinderford Bridge.

NOTE- Meet at 11am

Edge End, Old picnic site

Take the A4138 from Worrall Hill to Edge End.

The turning to the site is off of the main road on your right. Markers/sign will be used to highlight entrance.

(Also an opportunity to take a stroll around the veteran oaks and beech)

Foxes Bridge Colliery Tip and old Trax Site survey

Enter the forest at the metal barrier behind the sewage works at SO644138 From Valley Road roundabout, Cinderford. Take the track to the burger van on the Linear Park (turn off Valley Road at SO649138). Follow this track past the burger van and park just beyond the metal barrier behind the sewage works.

Ellwood/Gorsty Knoll

Meet in the Darkhill car park off the Sling – Fetter Hill road.

Beechenhurst

Take the B4226. If heading up the hill towards Speech House the turning is on your left.

Meet Stewart by the café.

Linear Park

Take the B4226 from Coleford to Cinderford. Go past the Dilke Hospital and turn left at the bottom of hill into Linear Park car park at Cinderford Bridge.

Serridge Green/Great God Meadow

Take A 4136 from Cinderford towards Coleford/Monmouth and at Brierley turn left immediately opposite the petrol station.

Park by the first metal barrier on the right

Mallards Pike/Moseley Green Survey and SUMMER BARBEQUE

From Parkend take B4431 towards Blakeney, we normally park by barrier opposite entrance to Mallards Pike car park, but this time go into the car park and park there.

BBQ site and Meet at SO63590918, in the open area next to the car park.

Greathough Brook, Piano Corner (Beaver site)

Take A4136 From Drybrook and at Brierley turn right towards the Pludds. Metal barrier is on the left.

Ruardean Woodside

9.45 am start

Along the A4136 from Brierley towards the Hawkwell traffic lights, turn left up High View Road. It is the first forest track on the left hand side before you get to the village of Ruradean Hill. Go through the wooden barrier, down the hill, passing the tree tubes on the left, then passing the deer fence on the left and the site is at the end on the right.

Arboretum Take 2

Cyril Hart Arboretum – take the B4226 towards Speech House from Cinderford, the car park is on the left before the Speech House field.

(Meet in the Arboretum car park not Spruce Ride).

Greathough Brook, Piano Corner (Beaver site)

11.00 am start

Take A4136 From Drybrook and at Brierley turn right towards the Pludds. Metal barrier is on the left.

Bixslade Trail

Take the B4234 from Cannop towards Parkend. The entrance is on the opposite side of the road to the stoneworks.

(Also a chance to see Union Pit memorial, Monument mine and MineTrain quarry).

Arboretum

Mallards Pike

From Parkend take B4431 towards Blakeney the entrance to Mallards Pike is on the left-hand side. Meet by the café.

Take the B4228 from St Briavels. Turn left onto Church Lane and then left onto Barnage Lane. Closest postcode is GL15 6AH.
