From Parkend take B4431 towards Blakeney, park by barrier opposite entrance to Mallards Pike car park.

Wigpool Nature Reserve

Ridley Bottom

Meet10am-'Kelly's Lane' off 'Rosemary's Lane' off the B4228 between Chepstow and Coleford. LIMITED PARKING - make use of nearby 'Rosemary's Lane' lay-bys.

Plump Hill Autumn Gentian site

Take the A4136 from Cinderford towards Mitcheldean. Just after the turning for the Wilderness is a layby on the right. Turn right here and take the track to the parking area.

Edgehills heathland

From Mitcheldean continue up Plump Hill towards Cinderford and turn left on to unnamed road just before sign on right for Wilderness centre. Continue on pot holed road for 3/4 mile to Forest Gate.

Lords Wood, The Doward

From A40 dual carriageway take Symonds Yat West exit, follow narrow lanes to Doward, picking up signs to Biblins youth campsite. After 1.5 miles, Lane bends sharp left at SO548157 by Doward Campsite. Take the forest road to the right here (white arrow) and go through the King Arthurs Cave car park and through the metal barrier. Take next left along forest road and park at SO552151

Stenders Quarry GWT Reserve

Meet at 10am on Stenders road ¼ mile east of Mitcheldean (turn opposite Co-op take road with church on right up hill for 400m, no easy parking nearby)

Enter the woods at the Marians Wood (SO570125). Follow the MAIN forest ride down to the river (over a mile). On the OS map you pass through Ellis Redding Wood and Coalpit Hill. When you get to the River Wye, turn left and follow this forest road for another mile or so, going past the Biblins footbridge. Go as far as you can go and park at the end. You are at the work site in Wales then.
