Once again there was heavy fog but there was no rain until the afternoon so we were able to cut and treat the birch stumps effectively. We continued through the area nearest to the main road and had large fires to burn off the residue.

The team are preparing to start in the morning and are surveying the site.

We had our ranger cutting through quickly with the chain saw which meant that most of us were collecting the brush.

We were very grateful for this lovely fire by lunchtime as the rain came and soaked us all to the skin.

Some of us had forgotten to bring our waterproofs!
