A new site for us set in the depths of the forest. We were to clear an old ride through the woods to allow for butterfly and bird habitat which was overgrown with birch and willow. We left the broadleaf trees as much as we could although quite a few of them had been badly squirrel damaged. The area was abundant with wild boar dens amongst the bracken and many deer and boar tracks.

The effect of the recent rain downpours can be seen and the background shows the density of the small trees.

This stream is normally a little trickle but is over flowing now.

This shows the devasation caused by squirrel damage to a small oak tree. The bark had been stripped around the trunk completely so we had to take it down.
