The Dean Green Team were lucky to have a rain free day after many days of torrential rain and thunderstorms. We split into two groups - some of us went up the hill to remove small birch and create glades - and some of us went to the wild flower site to plant 600 common dog violet plug plants .
Break time in the sunshine! We found a fire site and evidence of wild camping plus a far bit of litter. |

Working through the birch. |

We today planted all the 600 common dog violet plug plants in the newly created banks in the main field. And the sun shone! |
|
We then had a wander around the butterfly bank field where we have planted many plants in the past. The plugs we have planted in the past over the years are developing well and now provide much needed habitat for the Small pearl-bordered fritillary butterfly. |
