The fire at the end of the day is raked over and extinguished before we leave. Log piles have been left for the invertebrates.

The team are getting the fire going and will eventually clear the trees on the left of the image

The site at Castlemaine Depot is definitely improving as we make regular trips here to clear the squirrel damaged trees and open up the area for the wildlife. A 'Bracken Bashing' machine had been over the areas we had previously cleared of small birch which has not only trampled the bracken but has also kept the brambles at bay. We had a good bonfire going to burn the shrub and trees as we felled them which was necessary as there was a great deal of fallen debris to clear up.
