Perry Hay Brook
Grid Ref SO 6353 1077
We had followed the course of Perry Hay Brook from the west of the beaver enclosure where many small trees had been planted and we were checking and replacing any failed trees.
At long last this exremely long, cold, wet and windy winter seems to have abated and we enjoyed the sunny temperature of 20 degrees!
The brook meanders down to Mallards Pike lake eventually. |
|
Leaves can be seen within the tree guard on many of the plantings. Tree guards are necessary to prevent the deer from nibbling away at the young shoots. |
|
These bags contain the Willow sticks which we had cut beforehand to replace failing trees although most of the trees protected by tree guards were thriving. |
