Foxes Bridge Bog
Grid Ref SO 6209 1187
The thousands of newly planted trees had been surveyed to see how many had failed to thrive. There were about 5% failing which is quite normal. So, our task was to replace these trees with the Willow sticks we cut last month at Darhill Iron Works.
Our ranger is instructing us on how to loosen the plastic tree guard ties and slide the guards upwards. |
|
The dead tree guards had been marked with green dots. The area across the bog is extremely wet now and quite treacherous to cross! |

A welcome break at lunchtime next to the fire pit! |
