Awres Glow and Horsepool Bottom
Xmas Work Day and lunch
Grid Ref SO667167
The team split up in the morning to do a couple of hours work in different places and, for those who required one, Christmas trees were cut to take home. (The Dean Green Team volunteers are permitted to do this)
Brash heaps were created at Middleridge Inclosure whilst others raked the dead bracken at Brandricks Green. Also, 10 new onduline sheets were put out at Awres Glow. Then, we all went to the old Abenhall village school at Horsepool Bottom for a celebratory lunch cooked by our Rangers. It was scrumptious as the slow cookers had been on overnight with venison stew and dumplings followed by mince pies and custard plus a vegetarian option. Some of the team went to work off their lunch in the Horsepool Bottom Nature Reserve at Oakraven Field Centre in the afternoon!
