This was one of our additional Thursday visits to Tidenham Chase and we carried on with the birch removal until the heavens opened at lunchtime when it was no longer possible to herbicide the stumps.

These birch trees were only about 3-5 years old as the area had been cleared by us before but we had not used herbicide on them last time. There were many small branches growing from the original stumps and, although the herbicide spraying might not always be 100 percent efficient, it is better than having scrubby birch like this! |

Quite a few interested dog walkers watched our activities and enjoyed the fire. |
