Forest Water project
Wimberry
It was a beautiful morning again so we continued working with the Forest Water Project at Wimberry which is behind the Forest Cycle Centre. We were building leaky dams along the ditches which will prevent some flooding further down Cannop Brook in the winter.
|
On our way to the site we came across this feral boar wallow. We marked the average height of the boar on the telegraph pole where they rub themselves. There was quite a lot of boar fur around the pole. | |
|
We also found these early Fly Agaric mushrooms. They are native to conifer and deciduous woodlands throughout the temperate and boreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere. |

There was plenty of old wood available to pile up in the ditches and we cut loads of spindly birch as well. |
