This venue was changed from hay making at Ridley Bottom because of the atrocious weather we have been having this summer. We had a good grass machine to clear the area around St James Church and the team scraped up all the debris to allow further good growth. We also did a paddock which had been overrun by bracken further up the hill. The Gloucester Wildlife Trust and the Butterfly Conservation are doing a Wye Valley Moth Safari at this site on 28th July so they needed an open area to set up their moth traps.

The grass cutter worked well and the team moved all the cuttings behind the wall.

This shows the view down to the River Wye with Wintours Leap in the distance.

We found loads of toads hidden in the undergrowth and also some baby voles although there were no slow worms which we had been looking out for.
