Foxes Bridge Bog

Grid Ref SO 6209 1187

The volunteers at the Forest Water Project had a Lesson on Professional Tree Planting. We had 170 trees to plant at Foxes Bridge with a choice of Rowan, Aspen, Goat Willow and Poplar. It was a great experience, learning how to plant trees that within 8 - 12 years will be taller than us, and for future generations.

After our lesson we spread out over the area to plant the trees.

The bird song was immense and we heard Willow Warblers, Chiff Chaff, Black Cap and Song Thrush not to mention Buzzards calling above in the sky, but No Cuckoo!!

We also went through the area to remove self seeding conifers.
