Edgehills Bog GWT Nature Reserve

Once again, the weather was absolutely brilliant - this is weird! A completely sunny, warmish day to continue clearing the birch on the heathland. There was a large team out today and it is useful to have such an extensive site so that we could spread out across the area.

At the start of the day the team decided to build the first fire in this area of open land. The small birch can still be seen in the background stretching across to the conifers. |

Tea break! The large aerials can be seen in the distance. |

The fire has burnt through by the afternoon. We stop loading the fires after a while so that they are nearly out bny the time we leave. |
