Crump Meadow Woodlands

We were meeting for part of the Forest Water Project at Crump Meadow Woodlands.
Our task was to remove many tree guards from the wild cherry trees. The tree guards are there to prevent the trees from being eaten by the deer when they are small.

This shows quite a mature tree which was trying to break out of it's guard! Most of the trees were smaller than this though. |

These are the piles of old tree guards and wooden stakes collected in just over an hour! The guards are removed to the depot but the stakes can be re-used. |
