Wigpool GWT Nature Reserve

We were working at Wigpool Nature Reserve today continuing to clear the small conifers and birch to help restore the area to heathland. The Ranger was using a chainsaw on the bigger trees which we then cut up and dragged to the fires to be burnt. The day started off very wet so we were only a small number but gradually more people arrived until we were a good sized team.

	When we were leaving the Highland Cattle were keeping an eye on us from the gate across the road.
	Plumes of smoke from the fire!
	The sun came out just after coffee time which was lovely after a night of very heavy rain.
