Woorgreen and Crabtree Hill
Another visit to Woorgreen GWT Reserve and we have now moved up to Crabtree Hill with the birch clearing.
We had a few good fires going! |
|
Our GWT rangers spray all the stumps with blue stump killer to prevent the trees from re-sprouting. |
|
We found this Common Earthball (Scleroderma citrinum). It is the most common species of earthball fungus in the UK and occurs widely in woods, heathland and in short grass from autumn to winter. |
