This was our second week at the Beaver Project site for our annual clear up around the fencing to remove the brambles which are growing through and to clear around the stream grids.

We had a chance to enter the site which is now full of gnawed fallen trees. Below is a photo of the new dam.

	Clearing out all the debris which has come downstream and been caught by the grids as it enters the valley.
	We have a new dam! It is approximately 100m upstream of the main dam, so the beavers are now 'branching' out further. It has already pooled a bit behind the dam.
	While walking in the shallow bit of the stream we saw this scratching in the bank from the beavers. You can see how strong their claws are from this photo.
	At the end of the day, our muddy gloves are hung up to dry!
