Clearwell Meend

Spring is arriving although it was very windy on Clearwell Meend Limestone Escarpment! Our team were scraping away the old bracken on the sides of the main track to allow wild flowers to grow.

Piling up the scrapings!

A standing stone on Clearwell Meend, close to Clearwell Caves, in the Forest of Dean, which is known as Gattles Cross. Possibly named after a British Cheiftan named Gattle who was killed near there.

Final clearing!
