It was a dark, dank day after Storm Darragh which wreaked havoc across the forest! However we were working round the lake to clear small conifers and leggy gorse. We also repaired some of the fencing to stop the feral boar encroaching on the lake.
We, also, were reducing the height of the Alder trees but not to take them down to the ground as there might be Clearwing Moth larvae in them.

Our fire pit was an assent as it was freezing cold! |

We found this magnificent Blackbird's nest. Blackbirds typically breed from March to July in the UK. Males attract females with their melodious songs and displays of their bright bills. Pairs often remain together for multiple seasons. The female constructs a cup-shaped nest of grass and mud |
