Darkhill Iron Works Nature Reserve

Once again, the weather proved to be sunny and balmy with many of us stripping down to shirt sleeves on a day which was a blessing after the cold winter! The team actually split up into 4 groups today - one group raking inside the Iron Works - one group continuing with burning and removal of felled trees - one group clearing a small glade - one group opening up the area beside the car park. The video below demonstrates all the groups in the team at work (apologies for the blur on the screen!)


We were very pleased to be offered hot cross buns this time by a local resident!






Also found this day in the warm walls of the Iron Works were a few Common Lizards and here is a photo of one of them
