A really frosty morning and the piles of old wood are evident!
Castlemaine Depot, Parkend
Grid Ref SO622082
The main object for this day was to burn the old wood we had previously cut. The site is now far more open and should encourage the butterflies, birds and wild flowers. We submitted a photograph to BBC Radio Gloucester who were doing a 24 hour 'What are you doing today' scheme on their web site - have a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk:80/gloucestershire/content/image_galleries/24_12pm_gallery.shtml
We finished at lunchtime and went for a Christmas buffet at the Miners Arms in Whitecroft which was excellent!
