Clearwell Meend

At last it was a summer day and we could see wildflowers in bloom as well as a lizard. We were here to do bracken bashing which is a nice job as we were just smashing the bracken heads to prevent them from growing too vigorously.

	We found this Early Purple Orchid (bottom of the image). Clearwell Meend is a noted Orchid site and there will soon be many more Orchids here.
	We also found this Lizard scampering in the grass.
	The bracken is starting to grow fast in the areas which were cut last autumn so knocking their heads off with sticks is required!!!
