Wigpool FC/GWT Reserve

A visit to Wigpool Reserve just prior to the fencing that is to be erected around the site so that it can be grazed by Exmoor ponies. It has taken a lot of time with frequent work days to remove the invasive Birch and re-create the heather, bilberry and gorse heathland. Our task was to remove any remaining Birch which was dotted about which gave us all a good view across the reserve. This site is now ready for the ponies to continue with our work!

 

 

	We were lucky to have such a beautiful day after the Storm Imogen at the weekend had ravaged the country.
	This might look like our GWT Ranger is standing on his truck trying to look for something - but, no - those of us who live in the forest are well aware that mobile telephone signals can be elusive so he is just trying to make a call.....
	Storm Imogen was the biggest storm this winter with gust of over 70 mph and very heavy rain. This meant that the Wigpool lake was at it's highest for a long time.
