It was a blustery day but a large team ariived at Edgehills to be greeted at the gate by the Highland Cattle! We soon spread out over the heathland to remove the small birch, herbicide the stumps and burn the cuttings.

The cattle, who are very placid, meandered around us and seemed to appreciate the warm embers of the fires. They are quite curious and like to see what we are up to . There are three chestnut coloured cattle and three very dark brown cattle. |
|
Even during a break time the cattle are not far away from us.

As the fire is burning down we noticed that the cattle seemed to enjoy standing near it for the warmth. All fires were controlled and are no danger to the cattle. |
