Dilke/Great Kensley Inclosure

Grid Ref SO 6378 1253

The team met up opposite the Crematorium to drive through to the Great Kensley Inclosure. However, some of the team went to Foxes Bridge to do dam building along small streams. The main team were to do tree guard removal. At last, it was a sunny day after many days of fog!

The trees are now large enough to have their guards removed although, any trees which were smaller than a 2 inch circumference on their trunks were left with their guards.

This is only about half of the guards which we piled on the track to be collected by the rangers.

In the distance can be seen a vast open area of heathland which had been cleared of conifers a few years ago.

Tree guard removers!
