We were continuing the clearance of a ride to create a butterfly corridor in this area. The smell of the boar was intense although our presence kept them hidden in the undergrowth. We did not remove the small oak, sweet chestnut or cherry trees - it was mostly birch and gorse.

The colours of autumn are very strong and the bracken has nearly all died away now.
