Oakenhill
Grid Ref SO621076
Originally, we were going to clear the stream at Parkend on this day but, on inspection, the trees near the stream had been marked up for felling by contractors so we decided to go back to Oakenhill and continue the heathland restoration. This was much appreciated by the team as it was a beautiful spring day. We saw a couple of buzzards flying overhead, a tortoiseshell butterfly and many bumble bees amongst the bracken.

Many hands make light work!
Here is a video clip of the team at work loading up the fires with gorse cuttings.
The only reluctant star in the video is our Forestry Commission Ranger!
