This shows the cleared south facing bank on the left hand side and the mass of alder and willow still to be cleared on the right hand side.

A further visit to this site on a very frosty day. The south facing banks have now been completely cleared of small birch and gorse and will provide a very good habitat for the butterflies. Alder and willow were cut in the marshy area by the stream but they were so dense that we will probably have to re-visit.
