Linear Park Wildflower Area
Grid Ref SO638136
We had winter tasks at Linear Park today. Brambles have encroached over the wild flower humps and needed to be cleared. We had built a hedge fence around the site a few years ago but the site is now fully fenced so gaps were made in the old hedge.
We, also, put down a dozen or more onduline (dark) reptile sheets around the area for adder checking next year.

The old hedging is ideal for wildlife species. Most of it was left in the large enclosure but spaces were made for access.

Numbering the onduline sheets. Adders are known to be around this area so, by putting the sheets down now, we should find various reptiles under them next spring. |
