Gorsty Knoll
Grid Ref SO588087
This was a regular return to Gorsty Knoll where we rake up the heath from the cut bracken and bramble. A large team soon had the rakings in piles and even used the decaying piles from last year. Some of the team built the first hibernaculum for the protection of the adders.

Frost was still on the ground but it was very sunny to start the day off.

The hibernaculum is being dug so look on our News page for the result and for information about it. |
|
Rows of raked dead foliage. This will encourage the growth of wild flowers and help to secure the area for the glowworms. |
