Plump Hill
Grid Ref SO660168
It is a yearly task for us to mow, rake and clear the long grass on Plump Hill in order to encourage the Autumn Gentian to thrive. We were provided with loads of rakes and the job was soon done as 'many hand make light work'!
We also cleared a large bank of it's overgrowing bramble which will be good for butterflies.

The team raked the grass into piles before removing them to the side. |
|
This is further up on the hill and we used the fire to burn off small shrub and brambles. |
|
The bank behind the team is where we removed the brambles. Lunchtime by the fire! |
