In the morning, the team met at Speculation car park to continue removing very old and damaged fencing alongside a track. Damaged fencing can cause a real problem for wildlife especially deer if they get their legs caught in it.
Alongside the track, this old tree had a large hole high up and we were told that, when the Pine Martens had kits they were carried one-by-one to this hole from their original nesting box by their mother. It is quite a way from their original box but the Pine Martens obviously preferred it!
Pulling out the fencing and untangling the foliage.
The large pile of old fencing is removed and taken for recycling to the Forestry depot.
