Wigpool GWT Nature Reserve

We had not been to Wigpool GWT Reserve for a few years so a return visit was greatly needed. Unfortunately, the weather was ferocious rain in between the sunny spells.

We were clearing small conifers, scrub birch and some of the older gorse from an area we had worked in some years ago. The two Rangers were both using chain saws on the bigger trees which were then dragged to the many fires we had around the site.

The type of conifer we were burning created a lot of dense smoke so at times it was hard to see where everyone was!! |

Quite a good number turned up on what was a sunshine and heavy shower day so we were quite wet by the end but the team are used to that! |
