Stenders Quarry MEET: on 'the Stenders' road which heads west out of Mitcheldean passing its church. Reserve entrance is just as speed limit becomes national. Call Kev for any assistance 07900 050115 |
Warning, difficult ground/steep slopes. Not an easy site to work but one which needs some of us to help cut, treat and burn the scrubby trees (most will require chainsaw). We have made fantastic progress in earlier years but recently this reserve has gone without the graft it requires due to our focus on heaths. Stumps will be treated ASAP and the more we can rake up and burn the better the limestone grassland will be that follows. This is the home ground to our sheep which have ventured further and further afield. Suitable for 6-10 persons as space limited and tree felling.
