Greathough Brook, Piano Corner

Take A4136 From Drybrook and at Brierley turn right towards the Pludds.Metal barrier is on the left.
This site is being looked at as a possible fenced  trial area for a  beaver family. Beavers here would have a dual use- to undertake coppicing for us and so improve the habitat for a range of species and also to hold more water on the site and so help to reduce the amount of water reaching downstream in times of high rain. This would  not be a re-introduction  but would be a fenced trial site. Beavers have been used to do this in an experimental fenced area in Devon.

Mapping trees!

If you have a GPS please bring it or if you have the technology there are free grid ref apps to download on the app websites.

We will be trying to map trees accurately to assess the future impact that beavers are having on the site
