Edgehills heathland

Plump hill, 1 mile south of Mitcheldean on the A4136 by GWT truck. (long trousers and sturdy footwear/wellies recommended).

Birch clearance from heathland
Cutting of small diameter birch and application of herbicide to stump.

Linear Park

Take the B4226 from Coleford to Cinderford go past the Dilke Hospital and turn left at the bottom of hill into Linear Park car park at Cinderford Bridge.

Scrub cutting, bracken thinning and ditch reinstatement  for rare butterflies

Perryhay/Ninewells

Meet at the Go-kart track. Take the road towards New Fancy from the Speech House Hotel and just after Hotel turn left into the woodland car park. Go through the five barred gate along Spruce ride until you come to the FC vehicle.

NOTE- From late May and through June butterfly surveys will take place at various places in the Forest of Dean every Tuesday. The annual summer BBQ will also be in June. Details to follow closer to the time

 

All tasks are led by FC Ranger or GWT Ranger staff, start at 9.45 am and finish around 3pm
