Stenders Quarry GWT Reserve

Grid Ref SO659184

There were a few maintenance jobs to do today - mainly, removing some fallen down trees, replacing some fence posts and removing some fencing. It was an amazingly beautiful spring day.

The old rusty fencing alongside the road was removed as the gateway

is now further up the hill.

Our Stenders Quarry ranger came to visit us but he has had an operation

on his wrist so he sported a massive sling

to demonstrate his inability to do any work!

The view across the side of the quarry.

There was an abundance of Primroses growing on this grassy bank

and, when they die off, they are replaced by Lesser Spotted Orchids.
