Marians Inclosure

Grid Ref SO566119

Snow was forecast but we escaped it and had a good sunny day at Marians Inclosure. This is a good site for the Wood White butterfly so our task was to create scallops through the small trees which would give the butterflies better movement.

At the start of the day, the jumble of tree and shrub can be seen. This was cleared back and an open area created.

Dotted around the site were quite a few nest boxes waiting for the spring arrival of the birds. They were about 1-3 metres high on the trees and would hopefully attract all types of Tits and, possibly, Redstart.
