DEAN GREEN TEAM

Wildlife Conservation Group in the

Forest of Dean

Gloucestershire

This was our first outing of the Autumn season in which we were to clear a pond of willow and alder saplings. It was a glorious, if rather hot day to work in. A heron circled above us for a while and we discovered a group of about 15 baby common lizards basking in the sunshine

This is the site as we started clearing the willow. The pond cannot be seen behind the foliage
Wigpool after clearance
This is the site at the end of the day. The pond is to the right but can only be distinquish by the bull rushes growing as the pond was fairly dry after the summer drought.
